It is known that the name of the village comes from the old Turkish tribes, Yazır, but there is no information about its past. It is 13 km from Süleymanpaşa. The economy of a village depends on agriculture and husbandry. There is a primary school in the village, but besides it cannot be used, transported education is used. The village has drinking water network, but there is no sewerage system. There is no PTT branch or PTT agency. There is no health centers and health posts. The road that provides access to the village is asphalt and there is electricity and fixed telephone in the village. Yazir Pond is suitable for fishing and picnicking. The population in 2019 is 139 people. After Tekirdağ gained the metropolitan status on December 6, 2012, all villages turned into neighborhoods.
